Mine Heavy‑Haul Road Reinforcement Project (Warp‑knitted Polyester Geogrid)

Project Overview
This project targets the haulage road of an open‑pit mine, which is repeatedly loaded and compacted by heavy mining trucks. The original subgrade consists of silty clay, resulting in frequent pavement rutting and mud pumping under heavy vehicle operation.

Project Pain Points
Under cyclic heavy loads from mining trucks, the subgrade suffers severe lateral extrusion and deformation, leading to frequent road damage and extremely high daily maintenance costs.

Selected Product
Biaxial warp‑knitted PET geogrid with 70kN/m tensile strength, equipped with corrosion‑resistant PVC coating.

Construction Scheme
The polyester geogrid is laid between the subgrade and crushed stone base layer. The filling aggregate is paved and compacted strictly in layers to form an integrated reinforced structure.

Implementation Effect
The geogrid forms a strong interlocking system with aggregate particles, effectively restraining the lateral displacement of the road base. After 12 months of operation, only slight rutting occurred on the pavement. The overall road maintenance cost has been reduced by approximately 40%.
