High-speed Railway Soft Subgrade Reinforcement Project with Polyester Warp-knitted Geogrid

Project Overview: This is Section 3 of a high-speed railway. The site is covered with deep muddy soft soil, which features low bearing capacity and is prone to differential settlement. High-speed railways impose extremely strict requirements on long-term settlement control.

Project Challenges: Soft soil has high compressibility. Continuous settlement may occur under long-term dynamic loads from trains. Conventional geogrids suffer large creep deformation and cannot meet the 100-year design service life standard for high-speed railways.

Selected Product: Biaxial polyester warp-knitted geogrid, Model GGR/PET/BK100-100 with PVC coating. Tensile strength: 100kN/m; Elongation at break ≤22%.

Construction Scheme: Composite foundation solution combining plastic drainage boards and reinforced cushion with PET warp-knitted geogrid. The geogrid is laid within the sand cushion, stretched and flattened. Overlap width ≥20 cm. Fill and compact in layers.

Project Results: The geogrid interlocks with fill materials to restrict lateral soil displacement. It features low long-term creep deformation. The differential subgrade settlement is controlled within the code-specified limits. Settlement remains stable after operation, satisfying the operation requirements of high-speed railways.
